In February 2018 I stayed in Makassar for three days before traveling on to Raja Ampat. The Novotel is perfect for a stopover. It‘s centrally located, and you can reach the city center in a few minutes. The rooms are not very spacious, but well equipped.
Unfortunately under the sink, there is a towel shelf, which prevents the wheelchair from driving close to the washbasin. There was not a proper shower chair to borrow, but after some back and forth we got a small chair from the spa, which was stable enough. In the hotel room, thick carpets make maneuvering with the wheelchair a bit difficult.
The breakfast buffet was rich and delicious. The service staff was extremely friendly and helpful. So if you are a business traveler or planning a short stay in the city, the Novotel Makassar is the right choice.
