The RIU Florida Beach is about 20 minutes from the tourist epicenter “Lincoln Road”. You can move well with a wheelchair on the north-south axis through the barrier-free Boardwalk. The buses of Dade-Transit are all accessible, a bus stop is right in front of the hotel.
The RIU Florida Beach has some wheelchair-accessible rooms – some with walk-in showers (eg Room No. 1013.). Others with very low bathtubs (eg Room No. 1018.). WARNING: If you book through TUI or another organizer, call urgently the hotel as well and specify your own needs. We booked through TUI an accessible room, but when we arrived they had no idea.
The whole property is barrier-free and the staff was very accommodating. The pool is, however, accessible only by narrow steps or ladders. Some 100 m south the sandy beach gets more narrow. However, you can get to the water only through the sand.
